While the focus of Tanqueray Rangpur is directly on the Rangpur lime with ginger and other herbal notes, there’s still juniper in there for a nice slight peppery accent.
The Rangpur lime comes from India and is a hybrid of the mandarin orange and lemon (it’s orange colored when ripe).
This is a very light and refreshing gin and is widely available. Look for it at bars in a lighter colored green bottle than the standard Tanqueray London Dry Gin. This is a really great summer gin that’s inexpensive and easily accessible. Buy a bottle on your next trip to the market.
Trivia: While originally distilled in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray in the Bloomsbury district of London, it’s now distilled in Cameron Bridge, Scotland.
